yuri ushakov

My name is Yuri Ushakov, and I have been deeply immersed in competitive hockey for the last 19 years.
With over 4+ years as a skills coach, and I am currently the Head Coach for the 14U Park City Ice Miners and I am also an NAHL/NCDC Scout.
My passion for hockey began when I was 2 years old, and is only growing stronger. I grew up playing for the Clifton Park Dynamo AAA team out of Upstate New York my entire youth hockey career. At the age of 15 I saw drafted into the NCDC to the Syracuse Stars, and at the age of 16 I was drafted into the OHL to the Peterborough Pete’s where I went on to play 9 games in Canadian Major Junior before unfortunately getting cut. After getting cut I hated hockey and never wanted to wear skates again, I moved to New Hampshire with a friend I grew up playing with and played in Tier 2 in the EHL with the Seacoast Spartans putting up 7 goals in 9 games. After unfortunate living situations, I came out to Provo Utah with my friend and we played for the Provo Riverblades. After the season we both came back and just played hockey for fun with the Provo Predators.

After coaching private lessons on the side I found my passion again for hockey and began coaching where I ultimately created ‘Ushakov Hockey’.

I created Ushakov Hockey to give players the resources I had growing up, and to be able to give them the opportunities, experiences and ultimately help them avoid making the mistakes I made so they are able to succeed.
